What happens
Constance Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, survives a fall into an open elevator shaft and is rescued by Jason Brill, principal of rival Clay High. The newspaper makes Brill a hero just as Principal Osgood Conklin is competing with him for a promotion to assistant superintendent. Conklin, frustrated, demonstrates his new amplifying system, which lets him listen in on classrooms and hallways. Brooks and Walter Denton separately conceive of staging a fake accident to make Conklin look heroic before Mr. Stone, the superintendent. The plans collide, and a chaotic series of staged and real emergencies follows. This is the Our Miss Brooks episode Project X, broadcast on CBS Radio on March 6, 1955, starring Eve Arden and Gale Gordon.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
