What happens
Miss Brooks quarrels with Philip Boynton after he cancels their dates to spend time with his possessive mother, who is visiting town. Meanwhile, Mrs. Davis, Miss Brooks's landlady, is dismayed when the telephone company takes away her party line, cutting off the neighborhood gossip she depends on. Mr. Conklin's wife suffers the same loss, and Miss Brooks sets out to have the lines restored. Eve Arden stars in this Our Miss Brooks episode, first broadcast on CBS Radio on June 5, 1955, with Gale Gordon and Richard Crenna also appearing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
