What happens
Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, is put in charge of the school's new driving course, which she finds trying. Her friend Walter Denton tells her that Principal Conklin plans to play his tuba with the school band at the Music Festival in Oakhurst, and that the band's chances are at stake. Brooks and Mr. Boynton, who has a wager riding on the contest, look for a way to keep Conklin from making the trip. The series is Our Miss Brooks, a CBS Radio comedy from December 3, 1950, starring Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
