What happens
Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School, is pressed by her landlady to push her fiancé Mr. Boynton toward marriage in June. Instead, she agrees to stand in as a proxy bride for Georgette, a Parisian friend of Mr. LeBlanche, so Georgette can immigrate to America. Word spreads quickly through Madison, and Walter Denton and Harriet Conklin hear the news and rush to stop what they believe is a spite marriage. This episode from the Our Miss Brooks series aired on CBS Radio on June 26, 1955, starring Eve Arden and Gale Gordon, with Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna also in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
