What happens
Miss Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High, must take up a hobby after her principal, Mr. Conklin, takes up making lifelike wax figures and orders his staff to pursue hobbies of their own. Her landlady, Mrs. Davis, and Walter Denton are among those drawn into the confusion, as wax animals and handmade gifts from Mr. Boynton appear in her home and at school. Miss Brooks wants an evening off for a date with Mr. Boynton, and the wax figures and mix-ups surrounding Mr. Conklin's workshop cause complications. The series is Our Miss Brooks, and this single episode first aired on CBS Radio on January 10, 1954. Eve Arden, Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna are the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
