What happens
Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High, hopes to win the job of head of the English department from the new principal, Osgood Conklin. Her schoolmate Walter Denton asks her to help him write an impressive letter to Penelope Miller, while Connie's sweetheart, biology teacher Mr. Boynton, keeps making romantic overtures. Conklin, a stern and suspicious man, arrives at Madison High and soon begins to pry into the teachers' private lives. Eve Arden stars as Connie Brooks in this episode of Our Miss Brooks, first broadcast on CBS Radio on July 19, 1948, with Gale Gordon, Jeff Chandler and Richard Crenna in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
