What happens

Wickford Point, a Mercury Theatre on the Air presentation of the Campbell Playhouse, introduces the Brill family, an old New England household kept alive by pride and tradition. Jim Brill, back at the family estate, has grown restless with his cousins' habits and with his sister Bella, whose unpredictable behavior unsettles the house. Money troubles, old grudges and a visit from Joe Stowe, Bella's former husband, stir the tensions. Jim recalls his great aunt Sarah and his grandfather's warnings about the place, while Bella seeks guidance and affection. The story is set against the Brills' decaying estate and the family's relationships with outsiders like Howard Berg and Pat.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
