What happens

Elliot Chase and his new wife Amanda Prynne are on their honeymoon at a hotel on the Riviera, where a bitter quarrel breaks out over Elliot's first wife, Sibyl. Sibyl is now married to Victor Prynne, and the two couples find themselves staying in adjoining rooms and crossing paths in the hotel's casino and balcony. Victor and Sibyl also arrive at the hotel as a honeymoon couple. Their rooms and conversations overlap as each pair struggles with old resentments and new jealousies. This Mercury Theatre on the Air presentation adapts Noel Coward's play Private Lives, with Orson Welles and Lawrence Tibbett as guest-starred leads in a Campbell Playhouse broadcast. The original air date is April 21, 1939.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
