What happens

Harry Lime receives a telegram from a Budapest banker, Mr. Fakety, asking for his help with a bank robbery. Lime visits Fakety, who offers him twenty thousand pengos to catch the robbers before they strike. Fakety suspects his junior officer, Fodor, of plotting with Lulu, a flower-shop girl, to rob the bank through a tunnel. Lime, who has his own reasons for wanting Lulu to trust him, sets out to learn the details of the scheme and the people involved. The recording breaks off before the robbery is attempted.

Budapest, Hungary, in a bank and a flower shop above a tunnel.

Characters: Harry Lime, Mr. Fakety, Fodor, Lulu, Corelli

Listen for: Lime's careful questioning of Fakety and Lulu, and how each character's plan conflicts with the others.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
