What happens
Author Roger Winthrop rents an old house in the Catskills to research folklore and superstitions for his novel, but finds himself caught up in a sinister mystery when his servant Jacob dies a violent death. Winthrop believes the death was caused by a hex placed on Jacob by the last of the notorious Brocken family, an old maid named Hermina who is rumored to practice witchcraft on Donderberg Mountain.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
