What happens

Nick Carter arrives at the historic Hartwell estate to investigate a mysterious ghost haunting the property. Miss Harriet Hartwell claims that a supernatural apparition—the spirit of Chief Red Arrow, a Native American whose grave was disturbed—has been appearing and frightening the household for the past three months. Disguising himself as a scholar interested in psychic phenomena, Nick settles in to uncover whether the hauntings are genuine or the work of someone with sinister intentions.

The Hartwell estate, a historical mansion about 50 miles up the river, built on land that was once a Native American burial ground.
