What happens

Nick Carter takes on a case involving a criminal mastermind known as the Ace of Spades, who has been striking at insurance warehouses and leaving playing cards as calling cards. When two police officers are murdered in the condemned slum area where the criminal is believed to be hiding, Nick joins forces with Sergeant Matheson to track down this clever and egotistical criminal before he strikes again.

A condemned slum area in the waterfront section of the city, filled with abandoned tenements and dark streets; also Nick Carter's office and police headquarters.

Characters: Nick Carter, Sergeant Matheson, Ralph Williams, Patsy, The Ace of Spades, Queen of Hearts, Nolan, Carnes

Listen for: The mysterious Ace of Spades criminal organization leaving poker hands at their crime scenes, and the search through the darkened tenement district for the gang's hidden headquarters.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
