What happens
Nick Carter is hired by freight company owner Mr. Barton to investigate the hijacking of a truck carrying $30,000 worth of cargo. The truck driver Red Kennedy was shot during the robbery. As Nick investigates, he discovers that another driver, Les Garner, was supposed to make the run but stayed home drunk that day. Nick finds red clay on Les's car that matches clay from the hijack site, suggesting Les may have been involved in tipping off the hijackers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
