What happens
Nick Carter investigates when a group of boys, led by young Bubbs Harris, fall under the influence of gangster Moxie Reed. After a club fire damages a building, the boys need $200 to avoid reform school, and Moxie convinces them to steal guns and terrorize the landlady into silence. When the planned shooting happens, someone is killed by a stray bullet.
A city neighborhood with poor sections, an old empty house on Porter Street, and residential streets where the action unfolds.
Characters: Nick Carter, Bubbs Harris, Tim Newton, Moxie Reed, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Telman, Patsy, Mr. Riley
Listen for: The tragic consequences of a child criminal's choices and how peer pressure and bad influences can lead even young boys into serious crime.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
