What happens

Professor Thompson, a mild-mannered man, visits Nick Carter seeking help to stop his roulette system from working too well—he's winning far more money than he intended. That evening at a casino, the Professor wins $22,000 and is persuaded to stay and gamble further. The next morning, he is found stabbed to death in a ditch, his pockets emptied of the cash he was carrying.
