What happens

Jeff Powell and Dodie Murray are recruited into a counterfeiting scheme by Sidney Poor, who teaches them how to use fake bills at a department store. When they attempt the con, a store detective named Roberts is shot and killed. Nick Carter investigates and discovers the bullet was meant for Jeff, not Roberts, suggesting someone is trying to silence the young couple about the operation.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
