What happens

Nick Carter investigates the death of a man whose frozen body is found in a chunk of ground ice on an Alaskan beach, near a gathering of the Arctic Club, where members take winter dips. The dead man bears a Nazi ring, and a lead about a missing delivery driver points Nick toward a small town up the coast. Nick and his companion Patsy follow the clues from the beach to the town, where they meet local figures connected to the missing driver and the club. The Nick Carter series ran on Mutual, with this episode first airing on January 27, 1946, and Lon Clark, Charlotte Manson and Leon Janney among the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
