What happens
Irma Peterson and her roommate Jane Stacy, who works at the Rhyelander investment company, are walking through Manhattan after work when they begin to suspect they are being followed. The man turns out to be Jack Varell, chief photographer for Manhattan Magazine, who wants to photograph Jane for a series on working girls. Jane agrees and arranges for him to visit their apartment that evening. Irma, eager to help, keeps getting in the way while Jane prepares, and a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness just before the photographer is due. This is the My Friend Irma series, with Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane, broadcast on CBS Radio on April 26, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
