What happens
Irma Peterson has fallen ill, and her roommate Jane Stacy worries that she is lovesick over her fiance Al, who never seems to have money or a plan. Irma is worn down by the uncertainty of their relationship. Jane takes her to a doctor, who diagnoses her condition and suggests the cure lies in Al making a definite commitment. Jane sets out to get Al to propose, and the neighbors, Professor Kropotkin and Mrs. O'Reilly, offer their own schemes. The episode is from the My Friend Irma series, aired May 3, 1948 on CBS Radio, starring Marie Wilson as Irma and Cathy Lewis as Jane.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
