What happens

Ken Thurston, known as the Man Called X, and his chief watch a transatlantic plane leave New York carrying a British Air Ministry representative who has just received blueprints of a supersonic missile. Thurston grows suspicious when he learns the man is not who he claims to be. Following him to England, Thurston meets Winston Norman and Peggon, and learns that Sir Robert Beaumont, a figure of some standing, has a ward named Lisa Thompson. Thurston presses Sir Robert for the truth about the missing plans and the impostor who carried them, and the search for the blueprints begins.

New York and England in the late 1940s, including Wimbledon, a manor house and London.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
