What happens

Ken Thurston travels to Kangaroo Bay, Australia, after his friend Clark Kirby, an engineer working on a method of turning sea water into fresh water, reports that a strange fantasy threatens the project. On arrival Ken learns Kirby has drowned, and he meets George Llewellyn, Kirby's associate, and Margaret Williams, niece of the wealthy Lee Williams, who finances the laboratory. Lee Williams claims to have seen a sea monster, and Margaret is seeking to have her uncle declared incompetent. The first part of the story sets up the rivalries and suspicions around the laboratory as Ken begins to investigate Kirby's death.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
