What happens
Ken Thurston, a pilot, flies from Cairo toward Tehran with Pagon aboard when a violent storm forces his plane into a hilltop. On the hill he meets a young girl named Peace, who says she has decided she will not grow up because the world seems too cruel for her to live in. The man called X, the story's central figure, tries to change her mind by taking her down into the valleys below to show her scenes of ordinary goodness among people. Herbert Marshall stars in this Christmas-season episode of The Man Called X, first broadcast on December 23, 1950, on NBC's Saturday night feature.
A stormy sky over Transjordan and a hilltop among the stars, followed by Christmas-night scenes in the valleys below, including the Cratchit household and a hospital.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
