What happens
Ken Thurston, known as the man called X, goes undercover at the Flying Mustang, a dude ranch near Helena, Montana, after federal agents break up a smuggling operation that brought in alien agents across the California desert. Posing as a guest, he finds the ranch run by Doris Crandall, with guests Samuel Rokas and Fedor Kollenda and a wary foreman, Bart Sanders. When a man is found dead in the bunkhouse, Thurston and Madeline Trent begin to suspect something is wrong. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
