What happens
Captain Bradford and Elaine Raleigh are on a rocket plane above the undersea city of Eupidia, where they plan to seal its airlock with glass bottles of solvent. Bradford goes into the water to place them, while Mrs. Gregory, Jerry and Joan wait on the boat for news. The radio signal from the rocket plane fails, and Elaine warns that the Eupidians are raising the island again. Jerry proposes a plan to send a false message from the captain to keep Mrs. Gregory calm while the boat hurries onward.
Four thousand miles from Los Angeles, over the undersea city of Eupidia, and aboard a small passenger vessel racing south toward it.
