What happens
Captain Tex Bradford and Elaine Raleigh, a Euclidean submarine commander, fly a stolen Euclidean rocket plane low over the ocean with almost no fuel left. They are trying to reach the location of Euclidea before they run out. Elaine explains their concerns about the Euclidians and their scientists, who may try to escape the undersea city. Tex and Elaine spot a Euclidean life raft below carrying several people trying to flee. Tex radios Mrs. Gregory's boat for help, then decides to descend and force the raft's occupants back toward the sealed underwater lock. The story pauses on their plan to bottle the Euclidians inside the city.
