What happens
Captain Bradford, Mrs. Gregory, Jerry, Joan and Tex return to the Magic Island of Euchridia, this time to try to take over the island from G-47, the scientist who runs it. Finding every level deserted and the doors sealed, they ride a silent elevator downward, unable to stop it or reach anyone. Joan explains that the island's controls work by photoelectric and sound signals, and the group concludes that they are being taken somewhere deliberately planned for them. As the elevator sinks below the tenth level, the party realizes they are descending farther than the island itself, toward a city beneath the ocean floor.
