What happens
On the Magic Island of Eukritia, the Gregory party, Mrs. Gregory, her daughter Joan, Captain Bradford and Jerry Hall, arrive expecting to be met by the island's scientists, but find no one. They ride an automatic elevator that descends far below the island, then tilts sideways through a horizontal passage. When the door opens they find themselves in a corridor of transparent walls with no sign of anyone. The captain then vanishes from their group, and Jerry disappears as well, leaving Mrs. Gregory, Joan and John increasingly uneasy and unsure how to proceed.
