What happens
Lockwood, a stranger lost on the moors one winter night, takes shelter at Wuthering Heights, the isolated house of Heathcliff and his wife Isabella. Heathcliff is a cold, bitter man, and Ellen, the servant, tells Lockwood the house's history. Years earlier, Mr. Earnshaw brought home a foundling boy named Heathcliff, and the boy grew up alongside Earnshaw's children, Cathy and Hindley. Cathy and Heathcliff form a deep bond, but her choices and the social divide between them begin to pull them apart. This is an episode of the Lux Radio Theatre, adapted from Emily Brontë's novel, starring Merle Oberon and Cameron Mitchell, and broadcast on September 14, 1954.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
