What happens

Jane Froman, a young singer from Cincinnati, is hired by a radio station after an audition with Don Ross, who is wary of her at first. Their working relationship grows into romance and marriage as Jane's career rises from Chicago to New York. Don struggles with his own ambitions and with the strain of being married to a woman in the spotlight. Jane's life changes when she is aboard a flight to London, and she spends time recovering from injuries in Lisbon, where a pilot named John Byrne becomes important to her. The Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of With a Song in My Heart, a 1953 broadcast, stars Susan Hayward as Jane, with David Wayne as Don Ross and Rory Calhoun as John Byrne.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
