What happens
Under Two Flags follows Corporal Victor, a legionnaire in the French Foreign Legion, and Lady Venetia, an English visitor to the desert town of Syedah. Cigarette, the young French café owner, has her own feelings for Victor and has been pining for him. The story is adapted from the novel by Louise de la Ramée and is presented on the Lux Radio Theatre, broadcast Monday, May 24, 1937, starring Herbert Marshall, Olivia de Havilland, Lupe Vélez and Lionel Atwill. In this part of the play, Victor's company is ambushed and his stores lost, Victor is promoted, and his interest in Lady Venetia grows as they meet and talk in the town and in the desert. Victor disappoints Cigarette, and the story keeps moving toward the arrival of Lord Seriph and the orders for the legion's march.
The desert town of Syedah on the edge of the Sahara, its café, the military barracks, and the surrounding desert and oasis.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
