What happens

Father Burke, director of St. Anthony's College in New York, learns that the struggling school must close unless it finds $170,000 to clear its debts. He hires Steve Williams, a former football coach with a rough reputation, to build a team that could bring in money. Steve agrees to take the job, and his young daughter Carol comes to live at the college. A social worker, Anne, is assigned to look into the arrangement and is drawn into the affairs of the father and daughter. This Lux Radio Theatre production was broadcast on March 29, 1955, starring Van Johnson and Joanne Dru.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
