What happens
Jim Hawkins, a young innkeeper's son, finds himself caught up in a pirate hunt after a dying seaman named Billy Bones gives him a map showing the location of Captain Flint's buried treasure. Squire Trelawney and Dr. Livesey sail to a distant island aboard the Hispaniola, and Jim makes friends with the ship's cook, Long John Silver, a one-legged sailor who seems trustworthy. This Lux Radio Theatre production of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, broadcast on January 29, 1951, stars James Mason as Long John Silver, Bobby Driscoll as Jim Hawkins and Nigel Bruce as Squire Trelawney. Jim overhears a plot among part of the crew, and the captain and squire prepare for trouble as the ship nears land.
An inn on the English coast in 1765, the port of Bristol, and the ship Hispaniola at sea and approaching an island.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
