What happens
Nella Vargo, a celebrated opera singer, is cool toward her long-engaged suitor Albert and dismissive of her coach Rudy, who warns her about Albert's rumoured romance with Mary Linden. Nella notices a young man who attends her performances and walks past her house, and she begins to feel stirred by his attention. Her mood shifts from boredom to defiance as she resolves to have a flirtation of her own. Late in the evening she seeks out the stranger at the hotel, where he identifies himself only as Jim and speaks of her performances with unusual knowledge. Starring Jeanette McDonald and Melvin Douglas, with Louis Alberni, this Lux Radio Theatre production was broadcast on January 25, 1937.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
