What happens
Clive Briggs, a soldier just back from Dunkirk, meets Prudence Hathaway, an English aristocrat who has joined the Women's Auxiliary, during a wartime evening out in London. Their brief encounters in the rain, on a train, and at an seaside hotel show two people from very different worlds drawn together. Prudence's family disapproves of her enlistment and her interest in Clive, and Clive keeps part of his past to himself. This Above All is a 1942 Lux Radio Theatre production, first broadcast on September 14, 1942, starring Tyrone Power and Barbara Stanwyck, adapted from Eric Knight's novel. Much of the story takes place in wartime England, where social barriers are tested by the common effort against the war.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
