What happens

Two recent graduates, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie, leave their New England college to start a school on a run-down farm they have inherited. Dr. Joe Cardin, a doctor who is repairing a nearby house, is drawn into their lives, and Karen and Joe fall in love. Martha, watching their happiness, grows lonely. Mrs. Mortar, Martha's aunt Lily, arrives to help run the school, and the arrival of a troubled pupil, Mary Tilford, stirs trouble among the household. This adaptation of Samuel Goldwyn's screenplay These Three is presented on the Lux Radio Theatre, hosted by Cecil B. DeMille, with Barbara Stanwyck, Errol Flynn and Mary Astor in the leading roles. The broadcast was first aired on 6 December 1937.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
