What happens

Dave Connors, the young county attorney of Jericho, Kansas, is torn between his cold marriage to Belle and his growing feelings for Julia Norman, the daughter of a drunken lawyer he has long tried to help. When his old friend Tucker Webb returns with a new wife, Algeria, and a rival political ambition, tensions rise in the small town. Cornell Wild stars as Dave and Terry Moore as Julia in this episode of Lux Radio Theatre, adapted from the novel by Paul I. Wellman. The town's social circle and its gossip begin to press in on the characters as their private troubles grow.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
