What happens
Phil Green, a magazine writer, plans to pose as a Jew to report on anti-Semitism in New York. His editor, John Minnich, backs the idea, and Phil's young son Tommy asks him what anti-Semitism means. Phil's mother falls ill, and the story follows his romance with Kathy Lacey, a widowed niece of the editor, as his new assignment begins to affect his friendships and her acceptance of him. The Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the 1947 novel by Laura Z. Hobson stars Ray Milland and Dorothy McGuire, with the original film having won three Academy Awards.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
