What happens
Cary Grant, Jean Arthur and Ronald Colman star in this Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of The Talk of the Town, produced by Cecil B. DeMille. Leopold Dill, a factory worker accused of setting a fatal mill fire, escapes from jail and hides in the cottage of Nora Shelley. When Nora's rented house is taken by Professor Michael Lightcap, a respected legal scholar, Dill ends up hidden in the attic while Nora stays on as the professor's secretary and cook. Lightcap insists the law must stand above local squabbles, and Nora and Dill set out to change his view. The first part of the play sets up this uneasy household and the growing tension between the professor's principles and Dill's desperate situation.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
