What happens

Jim Osborne, an assistant manager at a bank, notices how easily a teller's safe could be opened because each teller knows only half the combination, and the idea takes hold of him. Over several days he researches extradition laws and settles on Brazil as a refuge, while managing his wife Laurie's suspicions and arranging passports and travel. Jim tries to balance his family's plans with his growing scheme, and the pressure builds as deadlines and delays mount. This Lux Radio Theatre drama, first broadcast on September 14, 1953, stars Joseph Cotton and Theresa Wright, who recreate their original roles.

Hollywood radio drama set in a city bank, a passport office, and on a flight from the United States toward Rio de Janeiro.

Characters: Jim Osborne, Laurie, Tom Bowers, Ken Woodley, Mrs. Cook, Susan

Listen for: Jim's discovery that Brazil has no extradition law, and the mounting delays on the journey as the plan tightens.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
