What happens
In Silver Bow, Montana, on election night in 1904, Louise Elliott meets Frank Medlin, a restless newspaper writer from San Francisco, at the town's election ball. Louise's sister Helen is eager to flirt, while Louise is courted by the steady, respectable Tom Neville. Frank charms Louise with talk of freedom and an unwritten novel, and they grow close during his brief stay. When Louise's family objects, the two decide to marry quickly and leave together for San Francisco. Six months later they live in a modest apartment there, happy but strained by Frank's habits and their money worries. This is Lux Radio Theatre's adaptation of The Sisters, broadcast October 9, 1939, starring Irene Dunne and David Niven.
