What happens
Earl Tinker, a wealthy packing-company president from Omaha, travels with his wife Mrs. Tinker and daughter Olivia on a steamship bound for Europe. Aboard, he gets acquainted with Lawrence Ogle, a struggling New York playwright, and with the elegant Madame Momero, whose attentions to the Omaha millionaire cause friction at home. The voyage and a later stay at a desert hotel at Binda bring further entanglements. This Lux Radio Theatre production of 1936, broadcast on September 28, 1936, stars Wallace Beery in the title role, with Clara Kimball Young, Marjorie Rambeau, Cecilia Parker and Eric Linden. Mr. Ogle's frustrations are described as the story goes on.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
