What happens
Faye Cheney, a young and charming widow, boards a luxury liner bound for England and quickly attracts the attention of Lord Arthur Dilling, a wealthy and self-assured aristocrat. Her companion Charles, a butler, and George and William, household men, have accompanied her, and they all have a stake in her plans. Faye is drawn into the social circle of Francis Kelton and Lord Arthur in London, while her household grows restless over their scheme. Lux Radio Theatre presents this adaptation of the play with Norma Shearer, Walter Pigeon and Adolphe Menjou, broadcast on May 11, 1942. The story turns on Faye's conflicting feelings toward her new friends and her old loyalties.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
