What happens

Lucy Muir, a young widow, moves with her daughter Anna and servant Martha to Gull Cottage in Whitecliffe, a seaside village. The house is said to be haunted by the ghost of Captain Daniel Greg, who has driven away eight tenants. Lucy insists on staying and soon finds herself in conversation with the Captain, who is sharp-tongued but strangely appealing. When her in-laws arrive with grim news about her finances, Lucy must decide her next step. The Lux Radio Theatre production stars Charles Boyer and Madeline Carroll, based on the 20th Century Fox film.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
