What happens
In 1896 New Orleans, the young Cleo Dulane returns to the Esplanade Street house of her late mother's family, the Dulanes, who once ruined her mother after her father's death. Determined to humiliate the family, Cleo takes up residence on Rampart Street and scandalizes the city by openly consorting with Clint Maroon, a Texas gambler. The Lux Radio Theatre production of Saratoga Trunk, based on Edna Ferber's novel, stars Ida Lupino and Zachary Scott and was broadcast on 1947-11-24. Cleo buys off the family's attorney, then follows Clint north to the fashionable resort of Saratoga, where she sets her sights on a wealthy man.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
