What happens
Wallace Berry plays a washed-up prizefighter known as the Champ, who lives with his young son Dink in the rough border town of Tijuana. Dink idolizes his father, and the two scrape by on gambling and hustling. When a flashy purchase of a horse, named Little Champ, goes wrong, the pair's struggles deepen. The program is a radio adaptation of the 1942 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film of the same name, broadcast on Lux Radio Theatre on June 29, 1942. Josephine Hutchinson plays Linda, Dink's mother, and Noah Berry plays Tony, the Champ's manager. Dink is drawn toward his mother while the Champ struggles to hold on to him.
Tijuana, a rowdy border town in Mexico, and later the American Hotel in Caliente and a racetrack

Listen for: The scene at the racetrack where Dink first sees his mother and Andy's reluctance to give up his son
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
