What happens

Joan Roger, an heiress engaged to orchestra leader Alan Bryce, is kidnapped by Steve Collins, a Los Angeles pilot who is under pressure from a finance company. Collins agrees to deliver her to her uncle, Lucius K. Winfield, in Chicago before her planned wedding in Las Vegas. Their flight ends in trouble in the Mojave desert, where the two are stranded. Together they discover an apparently abandoned town and a hotel with a lone, talkative owner. The broadcast, from Lux Radio Theatre, is a 1941 holiday presentation starring Bob Hope and Hedy Lamarr, with the play adapted from a Warner Brothers picture.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
