What happens
Jerry Warriner returns from a supposed trip to Florida looking suspiciously tanned, and his wife Lucy is nowhere to be found at home. When she arrives with her music teacher Armand LaValle and an excuse about a broken-down car, Jerry's suspicions grow. The marriage soon collapses into a heated quarrel and a divorce, and the couple end up in a custody dispute over their dog, Mr. Smith, before court. Later, Lucy's aunt Patsy and Lucy begin spending time with a sociable oilman, Dan Leeson, from Oklahoma, while Jerry keeps watch. This is the Lux Radio Theatre's 1941 presentation of The Awful Truth, broadcast on 1941-03-10, starring Bob Hope, Constance Bennett and Ralph Bellamy.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
