What happens
Dan Christie, the leading man of a New York musical, goes missing on the final night of its run, leaving the cast and stage manager Joe searching the theatre. Christie is later found outside the theatre saying goodnight to Marilyn Irwin, and he is evasive with his co-star and fiancée Vicki Lane when she questions him. Christie's agent Phoebe Gray pushes him toward a new engagement, and Vicki, now at Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies with dancing partner Victor Prince, becomes the focus of his plan to win her back. The episode is a comic romance featuring Lux Radio Theatre's stars, broadcast on May 22, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
