What happens

Cecil B. DeMille hosts this Christmas Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, aired on December 26, 1938. A jealous queen, who consults her magic mirror, orders her huntsman to kill her stepdaughter, Snow White. Afraid to carry out the order, the huntsman spares the princess and urges her to flee into the forest. Snow White finds a cottage belonging to seven small men, who are startled to discover their home has been cleaned. The episode also features Walt Disney as a guest of honor, who is interviewed by DeMille during the intermission.

A kingdom long ago, a dark forest, and a cottage in the glen where seven little men live.

Characters: Snow White, Queen, Huntsman, Magic Mirror, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy

Listen for: The magic mirror's answer to the queen, the seven dwarfs arguing and discovering the cleaned cottage, and Walt Disney's interview during the intermission.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
