What happens

Nick Donati, a boxing manager, drops his fighter Danny Burke after Burke deliberately loses a bout, having been paid off by gangster Turkey Morgan. Nick takes on Ward Gusenberry, a young bellhop with a powerful right hand, and begins to groom him for the ring. Ward's rising career draws him toward Nick's companion Fluff and toward a clash with Morgan's associates. This Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of Francis Wallace's story is performed with Edward G. Robinson and Joan Bennett, with Wayne Morris and Andrea Leeds, and the account given here covers only the opening portion of the play.

Miami, Florida, a boxing club and a hotel, later the countryside near Nick's home

Characters: Nick Donati, Fluff, Ward Gusenberry, Danny Burke, Chuck McGraw, Turkey Morgan, Silva, Marie

Listen for: Nick's arguments with Fluff and with Turkey Morgan, and the young bellhop's first steps into the ring

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
